ALTUS EXPLORES SABAH OIL & GAS HUBS COLLABORATION AT SOGCE 2025

Kota Kinabalu, 3 July 2025 – Sabah’s oil and gas sector is gaining renewed momentum as the state government sets a clear direction to boost local participation, attract strategic investments, and build the infrastructure needed to support long-term industry growth.

Guided by the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Development Plan, oil and gas is identified as a key economic driver, with focused efforts on downstream development, strengthening supply chain resilience, and developing regional talent. Execution of this plan is already underway through a combination of state-led and private partnerships aimed at positioning Sabah as a stronger contributor to Malaysia’s energy landscape. The outlook remains optimistic as the state continues to explore new ways to harness its offshore potential and grow sustainably.

Aligned with these efforts, the Sabah Oil, Gas and Energy Conference and Exhibition (SOGCE 2025) opens its 12th edition this week at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from 3 to 4 July 2025. Held under the theme “Fostering Collaboration, Paving Sustainable Opportunities,” the event gathers national oil companies, industry leaders, service providers, investors, and regulators to explore how cross-sector collaboration can accelerate Sabah’s energy development

Altus Oil & Gas Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., an integrated supply chain solutions provider for the oil and gas industry is making its debut at SOGCE 2025 offering logistics, marine and oilfield solutions. With more than a decade of operational experience in neighbouring region including Labuan and Sarawak, Altus is expanding into Sabah as part of its commitment to support the state’s growing energy agenda and contribute to the broader development of Malaysia’s oil and gas industry.

“SOGCE 2025 is an opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to operational excellence and to better understand how we can support the industry in Sabah,” said Mohammad Taufik Othman, Managing Director of Altus Oil & Gas Malaysia. “With 15 years in the industry and over a decade supporting offshore and onshore projects in Labuan and Bintulu, expanding into Sabah is a strategic move for us. We believe our presence here is essential to supporting the state’s oil and gas development while maintaining the high standards of efficiency and safety our partners have come to expect.”.

Altus supports offshore operations through crew change coordination, CCU maintenance and inspection, marine agency services, and vessel lay-up management. With a presence in key oil and gas hubs like Johor, Kemaman, Labuan, and Bintulu, its entry into Sabah signals a continued commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and compliant solutions across Malaysia’s energy sector.
